About
Slate Hub started as a group chat where a few of us kept swapping screenshots of whatever we were playing on our commutes. At some point the notes got long enough that a website made more sense than another flood of messages, so here we are.
We don't chase every release. A game lands on the site only after someone on the team has lived with it for a while — long enough to hit the dull patches, not just the shiny tutorial. If one of us can't put it down, or can't stop complaining about it, that's usually when it earns a review.
We care a lot about the boring stuff other sites skip: how the controls feel with one thumb, whether the game cooks your phone after twenty minutes, which settings are worth changing on day one. That's the part that actually decides if a game stays installed.
Nobody pays us to say nice things. When a game annoys us, we say so, and we try to explain why instead of just handing out a number.
Mikkel Sørensen — Mikkel has been reviewing mobile games for the better part of a decade and still plays more than he probably should. He handles most of the long-form writing and keeps the team honest about release schedules.
