Legends of Slots
Legends of Slots is one of those games that looks simple from a screenshot and turns out to have more going on underneath. The core loop is built around spinning themed reels, but the thing that kept me coming back was the collection side — you unlock little legend characters, each with their own art and a short animated intro, and chasing a full set gave the sessions a point beyond just watching reels tumble.
Control-wise it's about as thumb-friendly as mobile games get. One big tap button sits at the bottom, there's a hold-to-auto option, and the menus are large enough that I never misfired on a cramped bus seat. The animations are snappy and you can speed them up in the settings, which I recommend doing right away — the default pace feels a touch slow once you've seen the effects a few times.
On battery it's gentle, which surprised me given how colorful everything is. Forty minutes barely moved the gauge on a two-year-old phone, and it never got warm. If you want something to dip into for five minutes at a time, it fits that slot neatly, and the collection goals give it just enough structure to pull you back.
